The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

A five-novel science fiction comedy series by Douglas Adams, self-described as "a trilogy in five parts," published between 1979 and 1992. Beginning with Arthur Dent's escape from Earth moments before its demolition to make way for a hyperspace bypass, the series follows his improbable journey through a universe that is vast, indifferent, and frequently absurd. Originally a BBC Radio 4 series before becoming one of the most beloved science fiction book series of the 20th century.
