Discworld

A forty-one novel comic fantasy series by Terry Pratchett, published by Colin Smythe and later Doubleday between 1983 and 2015. Set on the Discworld, a flat disc balanced on the backs of four elephants who in turn stand on the shell of Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming through space, the series uses its absurd premise as a foundation for sharp satire of politics, religion, philosophy, science, and human nature. Organized across several interlocking sub-series following characters including Rincewind, the Witches, the City Watch, and Death. Over 85 million copies sold worldwide.

The inept wizard Rincewind is tasked with guiding Twoflower, the Discworld's first tourist, through the chaotic streets of Ankh-Morpork and beyond. Terry Pratchett's 1983 debut introduced the Discworld and began one of the most prolific and beloved fantasy series of the 20th century.
